Chris Murray
For fans of The Slackers, The Skatalites & English Beat.

Chris Murray is a unique force on today's music scene. As leader of influential Canadian ska group King Apparatus, Chris earned a strong reputation as a dynamic performer and gifted songwriter. Upon the band's breakup, he relocated to Los Angeles, emerging as a solo artist with his debut album The 4-Track Adventures Of Venice Shoreline Chris. This charmingly lo-fi collection of home recordings won high praise for its finely crafted tunes and the raw sincerity of its vintage production.

In addition to his busy schedule of live appearances throughout North America, Japan, Europe and South America, Chris finds time for a remarkable array of collaborative efforts. Chris has co-written with and produced albums for Montreal's Planet Smashers and eclectic NYC supergroup Da Whole Thing. His writing credits have also appeared on releases by Hepcat, The Slackers, Westbound Train, and Neville Staple of The Specials. Most recently, his classic song We Do The Ska was covered by highly popular UK group The King Blues.

Life has led Chris down a musical path to the very roots of reggae music. From trading songs on acoustic guitar with boogie-ska pioneer Laurel Aitken and singing with Caribbean bandleader Carlos Malcolm & His Afro-Jamaican Rhythms, to jamming with The Specials in a basement club and recording with Jamaica's original drums and bass masters, Lloyd Knibb and Lloyd Brevett, Chris has served his apprenticeship with the finest musicians connected with the genre. Chris backed Prince Buster on harmonica for a rare US live appearance at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in 2003.

Chris has hosted Bluebeat Lounge at Hollywood's Knitting Factory for the past seven years. The weekly concert series, focusing on reggae and ska, has showcased a diverse range of top quality music and served as home base for the thriving Los Angeles scene.
The Kings
The Kings are a seven headed kraken from the depths of Ballard, Seattle, USA. Unbelievable and extraordinary! A fierce and noble band you truly have to see for yourself to believe.

Established in 2013, The Kings emerged from the underground with hard hitting force, blending traditional brass ska with raw punk, soul and rock 'n' roll.

They are currently hunkered down in the studio, working hard on their upcoming full length LP. This will be their sophomore release, following their 2015, limited edition 7" EP, "Riot in the Alleyway".

See you in Hell!
The Sentiments
The Sentiments mix ska, rocksteady, reggae, and soul into a package that has thrilled audiences large and small. We have shared stages with The Skatalites, The Slackers, The English Beat, The Aggrolites, Fishbone, Chris Murray, and many of our local friends. We feature members of some of the West Coast's most-beloved ska bands: Easy Big Fella, Franceska, Cornerstone, Engine 54, Crucial DBC, and Combonation. Bring your dancing shoes, as the dancing is inevitable.
The Bandulus
The Bandulus came to life in the summer 2008. Formed by Jeremy Peña, the band

plays traditional ska, rocksteady, reggae, and soul.

Their debut album "SKA.REGGAE.SOUL." was released in July of 2010 that

featured The Slackers front man Vic Ruggiero, Matt Jacobs, Ryan Scroggins, and

ex-Stingers ATX rhythm section Willy Camero and Patrick Kelly. Their sophomore

effort "THE TIMES WE HAD" is set to be released this fall.

The Bandulus have shared the stage with yesterdays and today's top ska and

reggae acts including the originators of ska The Skatalites, The Wailers, The

Slackers, The Aggrolites, Easy-Star All-Stars, and Grammy award winners Los

Lonely Boys.
Irie Idea
There is a highly original energy fueling Irie Idea. Curtis Irie and Morgan Smith both grew up playing punk because it was fast, loud and against the grain of mainstream music. Along their journey they have matured and learned about music. These days the boys subscribe to educating themselves on roots music while making contributions to it's ever-growing evolution and progression.

The full sound of Irie Idea comes from only two members. Keeping up traditional blues and rocksteady values while adding in the best of ska, punk and funk would be a feat for a traditional four-piece band. Somehow, Irie and Smith bring a bright brass section, bouncing bass and vocal harmonization without sacrificing intricacy or intensity.

Irie and Smith grew up playing in separate bands around Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. When they met while living in Philadelphia they shared the same musical goal: to create and perform energetic songs of rebellion that carry both musical depth and lyrical content that listeners could intimately relate to. While building a foundation of friends and fans they shared the stage with bands such as The Slackers, Chris Murray, The Forthrights, The Menzingers and Bomb The Music Industry.

Coinciding with the release of their debut full length (Here's Hoping Somebody Can Find a Way Outta Here) Smith and Irie packed their bags and relocated to rainy but beautiful Portland Oregon to spread their gospel. They began playing frequently around the pacific northwest while writing bigger and better tunes and seeing how far their sound would travel.

The Irie sound caught the ears of production dream team Sammy Kay and Joseph Quinones at The Steady Rock Easy-Groove Factory in LA. It was there they recorded their newest full length Blues Like Sandpaper | Rocksteady Like Dirt featuring members of The Delirians, Matamoska and Sammy Kay.
